Why should you choose to have your new boat built in Peru?
We are well known for our quality craftsmanship dating back to the time of the Incas. Today’s global companies, that require labor intensive & precise processes are taking advantage of our craftsmanship and establishing production plants in Peru. Our crew of carpenters, electricians, metal fabricators and fiberglass and upholstery experts stand ready to bring your new boat to life. The combination of our experts, combined with our edge technology process and the designs of Derek Kelsall make Peru the best place to fulfill your dreams.

What are the advantages?
1)Our boats are competitively priced with any production boat with similar     equipment on the market today.
2) Why? The lower overhead & labor costs when building in a developing     country.
3) Our coastal location very near our capital city of Lima makes it easy to     move materials in and products out for our customers.

What guarantee do I have that my new boat will be the best?
1) Our hulls are built with: US Ashland infusion resin, US Vectorply     unidirectional foam and US Divinicell foam.
2) All wiring is made in the US by Dearborn.
3) All masts, all standing & running rigging, all tracks, trampolines & all deck     hardware come from Florida Rigging & Hydraulics in Riviera Beach, Florida.
4) All working sails, spinnakers & cradle covers come from Doyle Sailmakers     in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In addition, Florida Rigging & Hydraulics flies their riggers in from Florida to inspect and install all of the masts & rigging.
These are a few examples of the lengths we go to, to guarantee that your new boat will be truly the best.

WHY KELSALL?
Ballotta has an ambitious management team. Our objectives include major expansion and the maintaining and building on our reputation for quality and reliability.

We needed a new direction for our boat building business. For local clients we wished to continue to offer a wide range of sizes and craft, but were attracted by catamarans. Series production was not an option due to the investment and the lack of a proven local market. We had experience of most of the build methods and we further researched the options.

When we came across the Kelsall Catamaran web-site, our choice was easy. Here was a company with all the experience in the World, specializing in catamarans, with stylish designs we liked the look of and lead by a man who knows more about the materials and the way to use them than anyone. Everything we read and saw, just made good sense. All was confirmed at the KSS workshop in Texas. Instead of the usual very high labor content and extended delivery times of the popular custom build methods, we could compete with the series producers on price and give realistic delivery times. We could even move towards series production if a particular model proved to be popular by incorporating part molds for the more complex parts.

The KSS build method uses the latest resin infusion technology. The materials are the ones that everyone now uses and clearly the best for catamarans. The wide range of sizes and types, all use the same materials, the same tooling and the same methods. Our boat builders quickly became skilled at resin infusion and find the workshop a more pleasant place to work.

With one catamaran in the water, we have no doubt that we made the right choice. We can offer either the standard Kelsall range or a custom design from the most experienced catamaran designer. We simply could not have done this any other way. We have three more sailing catamarans in build and are negotiating others, both power and sail, up to 108ft.
